Kaill lives alone on his family’s farm on the outskirts of Hebraeth, his mother dead, while his father serves full time as captain of the guard in the great mountain temple that looms above the city. His own feelings toward the faith are complicated, but he’d certainly not count himself a believer. Yet regardless that, he longs for nothing more than to leave the farm behind and serve alongside his father. The stubborn old man would never allow it though, which oft sees the two of them butting heads.
